If you’re looking to time your shop at Walmart to take advantage of one of their bigger sales events, then there are a few choice events you should keep your eye out for:

Black Friday sale

The Walmart Black Friday sale is well known for its rock-bottom prices on high-quality goods, and it’s a great time in particular to buy reasonably priced tech products such as TVs and Nintendo Switches. In the 2020 Black Friday sale, for example, customers could save up to $250 on gaming laptops, and buy headphones at less than half of the usual price.

Public holiday sales

While Walmart’s Black Friday sale might be the time to stock up on tech, their other big sales at Labor Day, Memorial Day, and 4th July, are the perfect opportunities to pick up a few things for the house, especially if you have a Walmart coupon handy. The Walmart Memorial Day sale, for example, includes sizeable discounts on mattresses, household appliances, and seating options.

Seasonal sales

Walmart’s Christmas sales and after-Christmas sales are also well worth watching out for. Last year, you could get 70% off across the store in their after-Christmas clearance sale, as well as a whole host of killer Walmart Christmas promo codes.

Walmart has a dedicated 'Savings & Featured Shops' section where you can find all the items with the biggest reductions. There you will find discounted products by category, in addition to their "flash picks," rollbacks, and clearance sections.

Get free shipping

Walmart's free shipping applies to orders worth $35 or more. Products with a Walmart logo qualify for two-day shipping. And if you're a Walmart Plus member, when you order items that are marked as "shipped by Walmart," you'll be offered free shipping as well. All other orders of $35 or more qualify for free 3-5 day shipping. You can always have your purchases shipped to a nearby store location for free.

Military discount

Walmart does not offer a military discount at this time. If you're an active member of the military or a veteran,  you can save at Walmart by signing up to be a Walmart Plus member.

Cashback

When you use a Walmart credit card, you earn a certain percentage of your purchase back in reward points. These reward points can be used for selecting gift cards that you can use for purchasing merchandise through Walmart, paying for travel arrangements, lowering your credit card account balance, or redeeming for compatible merchant gift cards. You will also receive information and invitations to exclusive sales events and Walmart coupons offered only to credit cardholders.

Student discount

Unfortunately, Walmart does not currently offer a student discount. If that changes in the future, we'll be sure to let you know. Students can save by shopping the Walmart sale "Savings & Featured Shops" section.

Sign-up offer

Although there's plenty to be said for signing up to the Walmart newsletter, you won't necessarily get a special Walmart newsletter promo code when you do. Sign up for the newsletter if you want to stay up to date on special Walmart promotions and discounts! 

Walmart+

Walmart has also recently introduced its Walmart+ program, a paid membership for frequent Walmart shoppers. Walmart+ costs $12.95 a month and comes with plenty of benefits, like free shipping with no minimum order, free delivery from your local Walmart store, discounts on prescriptions and fuel, and the option to use their mobile checkout. 

Free gift with purchase

If you check the retailer's weekly ad, you can occasionally find Walmart freebies with the purchase of certain products. To qualify for a Walmart free gift, you might have to spend a certain amount of money or purchase a certain product. Some offers come with additional discounts like $1 off your entire purchase. Note that some offers cannot be combined with other promotions at Walmart.

Price match policy

You might qualify for a Walmart price match if you find one of their products being offered at a cheaper price on another website. Approved retailers include Amazon, Auto Zone, Petco, Office Depot, Sears, Target, and Walgreens. Walmart will honor one price match per person per day. To qualify, the item must be in stock and have the same model number.

Walmart Grocery coupon codes

Walmart offers lots of discounts for its grocery shoppers. With a minimum order of $50, customers can get $10 off your grocery order. This offer is valid for both new and existing customers. Plus, if you are a Walmart+ member, your grocery orders of $35 or more will be eligible for free delivery. You can also apply our Walmart grocery promo code to save on orders $50 or more. 

Refer a friend to Walmart

Walmart's refer a friend program allows you to gift a $15 discount to every friend you refer. Once they make a purchase, you will also receive $15 back to spend yourself, with no limit to how many people you can refer. 

MoneyCard program rewards

Walmart does have a MoneyCard program. This is a prepaid debit card that you can use like a Walmart credit card. The MoneyCard is accepted everywhere the store credit card is and earns you the same type of reward points. Points can be gained by making purchases through the store, the Walmart website, when purchasing fuel, or through one of their partner businesses nationwide. Walmart offers regular shoppers a Walmart Rewards card, that allows customers to collect 5 points for every $1 spent on Walmart purchases. Rewards cardholders can redeem their points to cover purchases or gift cards. 

Staff discount

Although Walmart doesn't have a friends and family sale, it does offer great discounts for its staff members. All Walmart associates, as well as their spouses, get 10% off any items in store.

Order pickup discount

Any item on the Walmart site with "pickup discount eligible" can be ordered to your local Walmart and picked up for free. The offer is only available for online orders and the discount will be displayed a checkout. If you're looking for items to pick up today lookout for items marked "free pickup today." Walmart grocery pickup is a great way to save on delivery fees, order your groceries online and select a time for pickup to schedule your pickup.

Walmart Pet RX discounts 

Walmart offers pharmacy services for your pets. They carry dog, cat, fish, bird, and other animal medications and supplements, which you can schedule autoship (automatic regular shipping) for, and receive 30% off your first order. You can apply regular Walmart coupons to your pet RX order to help save. Making returns

Walmart allows returns for both online and in-store orders to be done by mail, scheduled pick up, or in-store drop-off as long as they are returned (or exchanged) within 90 days of your purchase. You can return your item with or without a receipt, and, luckily, there are no extra fees or shipping costs associated with mailing your returns.
